Frequently Asked Questions
What does 'Declared Value' mean?
Declared Value is your estimate of what the card will be worth after grading - usually assuming a PSA 9 or PSA 10 grade. PSA uses this to determine the grading tier, turnaround time, and insurance coverage.
How to choose the right Declared Value:
-
Check eBay Sold Listings for the same card in PSA 9 or 10.
-
Use your judgment if you’re unsure - be conservative.
-
Don’t worry about being exact - it’s just a best estimate.
⚠️ PSA may apply an upcharge if they believe the value is higher than declared. If that happens, we’ll invoice you for the difference before your card is returned.
What Is an Upcharge?
An upcharge is an additional fee PSA may apply after grading your card if they determine it is worth significantly more than the value you originally declared on the submission form.
Why Does PSA Charge This?
PSA bases its service tier pricing on the declared value of your card (i.e., what it’s estimated to be worth after grading). Each tier has:
- A price
- A turnaround time
- A maximum value limit (e.g., up to $499 for Value tier)
If your card grades high (e.g., a PSA 10) and ends up being worth more than the limit of the selected tier, PSA will:
- Reclassify it to the correct tier
- Charge you the difference in cost between the two tiers
How much does it cost to grade a card through Onestoppokeshop?
Our pricing depends on the declared value and number of cards submitted.
-
Prices start from $35 per card for standard submissions.
-
Cards with declared values over $1,500 USD are priced individually.
-
All prices include handling, shipping, insurance (up to the declared value) to and from PSA, and the cost of submission
